Many moons ago, when I was a fresh-faced beauty assistant, Bobbi Brown hosted an event to introduce those of us on the lowest end of the totem pole to her famed concealer—and presumably hook us at the get-go. It worked, obviously, and I’ve been a fan of her under-eye-brightening, spot-correcting miracle workers ever since. I never really thought they needed

Bobbi Brown isn’t in the business of painting faces just for pretty’s sake. Anyone who has read her tomes on the subject is well aware of the Brown diktat that cosmetics are a power tool—a way to help you not only look good, but feel good, too. It should come as no surprise, then, that she’s a tireless supporter of Dress for Success. A nonprofit organization committed to

Over the past few years, the idea of seasonal makeup has been thrown out the window. Peter Philips famously put creamy jade green nail polish on Chanel’s Fall 2009 runway, and François Nars likewise bucked convention by showing a deep burgundy lip for Spring at Marc Jacobs last season. If you ask us, though, there’s nothing like pastels to properly usher in the warmer

With the royal nuptials growing ever closer (April 29, in case you’ve somehow managed to avoid the worldwide media blitz), plenty of brands are rushing engagement ephemera onto shelves. That navy Issa wrap dress and stunning sapphire and diamond ring the bride wore to the couple’s press conference announcing their plans to wed will be forever enshrined in the annals of fashion history—and just as eternally knocked off. But Butter London, the lacquer brand known for its nontoxic formulas, innovative runway looks , and quirky polish names, was way ahead of the game. Way back in January, it announced the launch of a new sparkly amethyst lacquer, dubbed No More Waity Katie. This month, in an effort to get while the getting’s still good, Butter is debuting a limited-edition lip gloss of the same name. Its first foray into the world of makeup, the shine product is the same shade as its polish counterpart—sheer lilac with tiny flecks of lavender glitter—and likewise contains no parabens, petroleum, or sulfates for what Butter founder Nonie Crème calls a “glossy greige” finish. Pucker up.
